You’d like to learn about Agile in a course or training? To finally find out what all these colorful sticky notes are supposed to improve? Then you’ve found what you need: I’m passionate about teaching “Agile Basics”.
Choose which method interests you most: Scrum or Kanban. Other than in courses held by their respective organizations, I won’t try to convince you to use either method. I find it much more useful that you know the agile landscape, and can decide for yourself what fits best for you.
Course Agile Basics with Scrum (2 or 3 Days)
In 2 or 3 days, we’ll cover the basics of agile and Scrum:
- Why do people even do this agile thing?
- What exactly is “agile”?
- Which agile methods exist?
- Basics: Lean, Agile, and Scrum
- How you can be agile in a waterfall environment
- Roles, events, and artifacts in Scrum and their interaction
- Estimation and release planning
- How multiple Scrum teams interact and collaborate
- Requirements engineering: Now, how do I write that User Story (and what is this even)?
2 or 3 days? If you decide for 3 days, your participants will have more time to deepen their understanding and to apply their new knowledge in a Scrum simulation. So they won’t be left with just the theory, but experience common traps and pitfalls first-hand. On top, we’ll have the entire 3rd day to talk about agile requirements engineering.
This course covers all topics usually required for the basic Scrum Master certification exams.
Course language and materials: German or English.
Course Agile Basics with Kanban
If you already know what it means to be agile, the first part of this course will be a short repetition. If not, you’ll learn it pretty quickly:

- Basics: Lean, Agile, and Scrum
- How you can be agile in a waterfall environment
- We’ll experience the principles Visualizing and Limited Work In Progress during our live simulation
- Feedback mechanisms and metrics
- Tips for starting your Kanban project
After this course you’ll understand how Kanban works, and how you can start applying it right now.
